About
Cameron Jones-Manley is a British photojournalist and documentary photographer based in Ukraine. His work explores themes of conflict, environmental and social crises, with a focus on the human consequences of war.
He briefly studied documentary photography in Cardiff, Wales, at the renowned course founded by Magnum photographer David Hurn, whose approach to documentary practice has influenced generations of photographers.
Over the past several years, Cameron has worked extensively in Ukraine, documenting life along the frontline and in communities shaped by the ongoing war. His wider work has taken him across the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan and elsewhere, often working alongside civilians, humanitarian organisations and frontline teams.
Cameron’s work has been published internationally by major news outlets, including The Guardian, The Daily Mail and El País. Alongside editorial assignments, he contributes to newspapers and international news agencies while developing long-term independent projects exploring overlooked communities and the human consequences of conflict.
His approach is rooted in close, immersive documentary photography, with an emphasis on spending time with the people and communities he photographs rather than simply covering events from a distance. His work explores the personal realities of conflict, from evacuation and displacement to survival, loss and everyday life in places affected by war.
